So recently I went shopping with my friends and I picked up these two products from Benefit:
They're Real Mascara
Fine One One for lips and cheeks
Before I purchased these products obviously I did a bit of research on the two products as they were a both bit pricey (Mascara- $38 australian dollars and Cheek stain- $44). I had read several reviews and watched many of my favourite beauty youtubers talk about these products.
The fine one one is a small rectangular tube thing that is big enough to fit in the palm of your hand. It is meant to be a highlighter, blush and bronzer all in one. The light pink shampagne colour acts as a highligher giving you a nice, healthy glow. The watermelon colour acts as a blush, which gives you a natural look and the orangey-coral colour acts as a bronzer, contouring your face perfectly. With one swipe from the apple of your cheeks up to your temple with the pink shampagne colour facing up, you get all the colours where they need to be. Next you just use your finger to blend the colours together in a circular motion. And there you go! You have blush, contour and highlighter done!
I love this because it is really simple and really easy to use. It is quite small so it is good for on the go. The colours are very pignmented and super pretty. The colours blend toghether very well and look amazing together and the best thing is you can also use it for your lips. All you do is turn it to the side (horizontally) and swipe all the colours on your lips, it comes out a very pretty coral colour. I dont generally use it for the lips though because I find it is too dry on my lips and the colour also doesnt suit my skin tone but thats just me. I recommend putting on lipbalm before using it for lips but you can use it however you like, this is just what I do.
The They're Real Mascara is supposed to help lengthen, curl, volumize, lift and seperate your lashes to give you the allusion of wearing false lashes. It is also supposed to be smudge-resistant and not dry out. It also has a new, unique designed blush that is to supposedly help you reveal lashes you never knew you had. The mascara is applied like a normal mascara, holding the wand horizontally and wiggle brush side to side, base to tip through your lashes, but the unique thing about this mascara wand is that you can also hold the wand vertically as the brush has a custom-domed tip which helps you seperate the lashes.
When I first bought it I was super excited, because I had done all the research on this and everyone seemed to love it. At first when I tried it I didnt really like it and I was quite disappointed. It didn't really give me the volume and length that I expected and it didnt curl my lashes at all. I didnt use it for a couple days after that but then I decided to give it another go and for some reason it worked better this time! The first time I tried it I must admit my lashes were being stubborn and did not curl as they usually do with my lash curler, but for some reason my lashes decided to co-operate and I tried the They're Real again and it worked amazing! It still didnt give me any extra curl, but it did give me volume and really seperated my lashes. The domed-tip is really useful as I can get the lashes that I usually can't reach with other mascara wands. The really amazing thing about this is that it isnt smudge proof so after a long time wearing it you wont get black under your eye. One night I forgot to take my make up off before hopping in the shower. To my suprise my mascara did not smudge at all. It had just disappeared. The mascara had literally fallen off in little pieces and had just come off my lashes completely. Leaving me with absolutely no smudges at all and clean lashes. I found this so amazing and was an unexpected feature.
I am really happy with both of these purchases and definitely recommend them, they are definitely worth your money and easy to use.
Thanks for reading!
Have a good day!
