New Morning & Night Skincare Routine| Casssheww

Skin care is a personal topic in my opinion. Everyone has different skin types and different problems so it’s hard to find a particular skin care routine that will help more than 1 person. However, seeing other peoples skin care routines have helped me acquire my own routine and find products that help with my skin. Before I get into the products I use lets get a little bit of background on my skin. I have normal to combination skin and I have teenage acne. I know that it is normal for a 16 year old to go through teenage acne so I’m not too worried about it but I do want to get rid of it as quickly as possible as would anyone else. The products that I use have either been recommended to me by friends who have the same skin issues as me and it has worked for them or I have seen these products work for people on youtube that have acne. I have different products for morning and night mainly because they all do different things.

Morning

The first thing I do for my morning skin care is to wet my face with warm water, this wakes me up and opens up my pores. I then go in and use my Clearasil Ultra Pimple+Marks Daily Scrub. This comes out in a blue scrub with blue beads in it which are meant for exfoliation. I massage this all over my face for about 2 minutes as that is what is recommended to get better results, this was instructed to me by a lady at a Proactiv counter and since finishing Proactiv I use this technique for any other cleansers and scrubs. This scrub promises to help clear pimples fast and reduce the appearance of marks. I completely agree with this, you can see an improvement after using it for 2 weeks! This scrub is a lifesaver and it has a refreshing smell to it so it is perfect for the morning.
The next product I use is the Clinique Clarifying Toner which I use both morning and night. I like a toner that does more than just add moisture back into your skin and this one clarifies the skin and exfoliates and it has a stinging feel to it which for some reason I like because then I know that it’s working.
And the last step to my very simple morning routine is moisturising and I use the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion. I got this as a sample and I would love to buy this in proper form but I have a bunch of moisturisers that still need to be used and will probably last me a lifetime so I’m just trying to get through this one. I do love it though it makes my skin feel sooo smooth and it has SPF in it which is good. My skin absorbs it very quickly and easily which is why I love it and it keeps your skin hydrated pretty much all day.

Night

At night I use Coconut Oil to take my makeup off because it is a natural product and does wonders for my skin. I don't like the feeling of putting a lot of chemicals and harsh products on my skin before I go to bed so I like to use my Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser and I use my Clarisonic Mia 2 to work that into my skin and really exfoliate and get rid of all the dirt and makeup that has accumulated on my face throughout the day. I have been using the Clarisonic for about 5 months now and still don't feel confident enough to give a full review yet but it does make me feel like I've really got the dirt out of my skin and seeing my foundation come off my face and onto the brush is a rather satisfying and relieving feeling for me.
After I've gotten out of the shower I will then use my Clinique Clarifying Toner which is the only product that does not change in my morning and night skin care.
Instead of a moisturiser I use the Garnier Anti-Dark Spot Renovator Night Serum because I'm unsure as to whether or not applying moisturiser after this serum will lessen the effect of the serum. Anyway, this product is vital for my night time routine. It does wonders while I sleep. This is meant to even out skin tone and I bought it specifically for my hyper pigmentation which although it is still bad, I can tell that it has improved a lot because of this product.
For a spot treatment I use Lush Grease Lightning which is just a gel that you apply over your spots (obviously) and it dries them out overnight. Its great!

That is my morning and night skincare! I just thought it would be fun to show you my skincare and how I am dealing with my acne. I used to buy products to help with getting rid of pimples and such but now I am more focused on getting rid of marks, cleaning up hyper pigmentation and acne scars. I hope this was helpful! And just remember, just because a product works for me doesn't mean it will definitely work for you, it's all just a game of trial and error :)

Mac Makeup Collection| Casssheww

If you didn't already know MAC is one of my favourite high end brands. I love pretty much everything in MAC and the packaging is so classy and seeing MAC products in my makeup collection genuinely makes me so happy (that sounds really pathetic but its true). So I thought I would share with you all of my happiness... I mean MAC products... anyway onto the makeup.

Of course I need to have lipsticks. 1) A person can't shop at MAC and not own a lipstick and 2) I am addicted to lipsticks.
From left to right: Hue, Russian Red, Party Line, Cyber and Up The Amp.

I currently have 5 MAC lipsticks, and trust me my wish list is quite long, but I am happy with my little collection so far and it will surely grow. Each lipstick has a different finish and although I would like to talk about them all, I'm sure this would take me hours to write and this post would be metres long.  I am also typing this late at night as I couldn't sleep so I'm not sure how much of this will make sense. The finishes aren't really comment worthy, they all have great colour-payoff and have build able pigmentation. Most are quite moisturising although I do normally apply lip balm before the lip stick anyway so I don't really have an opinion on that. The only thing I will say though is that Russian Red has a Matte finish which isn't too drying (on my lips anyway) but if you have flakiness in your lips this lipstick will definitely detect it, so always remember to apply a lip scrub and balm first before any Matte finish lipsticks.
Hue is a lovely nude colour that is more on the orange/pink side of things. To be honest I don't really go for nude lips that often as bold lips are my favourite part of makeup but I do like this as a nice change sometimes.
Russian Red was my first Mac lipstick purchase and it is beautiful. It has blue undertones which make your teeth look extremely white; i think this is the most well known thing about this lipstick actually. I adore the colour, it is a true royal red (is that a colour? I don't know).
Party Line is a deep burgundy colour that sort of reminds me of wine. Although it isn't as dark as I would like I do still like wearing this lipstick.
Cyber is possibly my favourite of them all (it's a tie with Up The Amp). It looks almost black when you first look at it, it certainly frightened my mum when I showed her. However, it comes out as an extremely dark purple (not dark enough if you ask me, although I think I'm going through a black lip phase at the moment haha). This lipstick just makes me feel really tough and I'm loving it at the moment.
Up The Amp is a lipstick I like to call my 'Perrie Edwards' lipstick as I believe this is her signature lipstick colour (either this or Heroine). I am loving purple lips at the moment and the other purple lips I have are either on the darker side or a bit too pink for my liking. This looks a bit pink in the picture but I can assure you it looks like more of a cool-toned purple and I am in love with it.

Top row: Omega, Satin Taupe, Honeylust, Mythology
Bottom row: Charcoal Brown, Sketch, Woodwinked, Naked Lunch
Another MAC must-have is eyeshadows. I think this is what MAC is most famous for (correct me if I'm wrong). When people see those sleek, black, classy looking eyeshadow palettes they just melt. I currently have 8 eyeshadows and I am looking to buy one of those bigger 15 eyeshadow palettes.
Many of the eyeshadows I have are the most popular eyeshadows in the beauty world. If you are a MAC addict or a lover of all things beauty and you look at all the MAC eyeshadows in the shop you could automatically pick one of these up just by guessing. They are that popular. I am more of a neutrals kind of girl which is why I don't have many daring colours other than the slight pinks and purples. I honestly feel like it's going to take me forever to hit pan on any of these because there is so much product in one and you need the slightest bit of product on your brush because these eyeshadows are quite pigmented. I don't know much about the different finishes for each eyeshadow so I don't feel like I should comment on that because it probably wouldn't be any use or make sense so moving on.

This photo doesn't do this product any justice but it is probably my favourite product ever. I first saw this in Tanya Burrs Nicole by Missguided Collection Makeup Tutorial video and I fell in love. It is the Pressed Pigment in Deeply Dashing which is one of their bigger eyeshadows. It is EXTREMELY glittery so I recommend applying under eye concealer after applying this product to avoid too much messiness. It comes out a more warm orange-brown colour that looks so subtle and the glitters look very subtle too until you walk outside and you can see the shimmer. It is GORGEOUS. I am not a very big glitter person but I do agree that sometimes when you are feeling down, sparkle can always pick up your mood. I'm not sure if this is limited edition or a permanent product but MAC always come out with things similar to this.

Now onto skin makeup,
First is the Mineralized Skin Finish Natural and I'm in the shade Medium-Dark, which I think may be too dark for me, the lady who was helping me wasn't very good with matching the right colours to my skin. This is pretty much a very high coverage powder which I liked the sound of since I have teenage acne and want to find everything in the world to try cover it up. Which leads me onto my next product. I always wanted a concealer and the Pro-Longwear one scared me cause it's in a glass container, also I wanted a cream concealer. This is the Studio Finish Concealer and the lady matched me up to be NW20 which is too light for me (?!?). I use this either as an under eye concealer or if I'm wearing a paler foundation I use it all over blemishes and it is excellent. It has medium to high coverage and it is definitely build able and it stays on all day. It is definitely my favourite concealer.
This product I heard about in 2012 and it was actually my first major makeup purchase. This is the Peachy Keen blush and it is the prettiest coral/peach colour ever. It has some gold shimmer in it which looks lovely on the skin and it is extremely pigmented. In my opinion it suits all skin tones and seasons and would just look great with any makeup look.
These next products are both from the mineralised collection. The first is a mineralised blush in Warm Soul. I absolutely love this product it is my favourite blush at the minute. I love wearing this when I'm having lazy days as it can triple up as a contour, blush and highlight and also when I don't want too much going on on my skin, especially in autumn as I am either rocking dark eyes or lips and don't want my skin to look too much. This is a natural, light peach coloured blush with gold glitters in it which makes a nice highlighter. Speaking of highlighters, the next product is the Mineralised skin finish in Soft and Gentle which is my absolute holy grail of highlighters. I literally have not used another highlighter since purchasing this and I love it.

From left to right: Right Image, Next Fad
Both of these lip glosses were a present. I wouldn't have picked these colours otherwise. I don't think I look good in pinks to be honest. However, paired with the right lip stick these can look quite nice on. Right Image is a coral pink and it is a creme sheen glass. I thought this formula was quite sticky and I really did not like it at first. I'm not sure if I've warmed up to this product yet. Next Fad is a gorgeous colour that looks like a more orange/apricot version of Right Image and the formula for this one is a Pro Longwear Lip glass which I don't have a problem with. It doesn't have any qualities worth mentioning but it isn't sticky which is always a plus for me.

Lastly, are these Paint Pots. These remind me of a more classy and expensive version of the Maybelling Colour Tattoos. I'm not going to ramble on about these too much as I did a separate review of them earlier on my blog. Click here to read it. I think they can be great eyelid bases before eyeshadow or just as a nice wash all over the lids for a quick and easy makeup look for those lazy days. They have good pigmentation and the colour can definitely be built up.

That is all my MAC Makeup that I own as of right now. There are definitely a lot more MAC things I would like to buy but for now I am happy with my small collection (Its small in my opinion).

What is your favourite MAC Product? What MAC Product would you like to try next?

Thank you for reading!
Have a nice day :)

A Happy Mother in a Tin| Casssheww

If you are Australian you are obviously well aware (or maybe not) Mothers Day is fast approaching. My Mother is IMPOSSIBLE to shop for. She has none of the same likes as me and really doesn't not like *cheap* material goods (can't exactly afford a diamond, gold, or crystal necklace and you can't buy good grades so therefore she is deemed 'impossible to shop for'). I realised that she gets very stressed a lot and I know I'm not the easiest kid to handle and most of the time not very pleasant to live with *hehe* so I thought something like this is perfect. (Although she doesn't take many baths so really this is a present for myself.... Oops).

This is the "Mum" tin from Lush. It retails at $39.95 which may sound expensive but 1) Its mothers day, spoil her and 2) It comes with a body/hand lotion, face moisturiser (which usually retails at $35 alone), 2 bath ballistics and 3 bubble bars. All of which would usually retail around $90 if bought separately. Lush usually has pretty good deals when it comes to the gift sets anyway. I usually buy myself a gift box from Lush anyway because it comes with so many products for such an awesome price. Enough rambling on about how amazing Lush is... onto the products.

Dream Cream is a hand and body lotion that is supposed to be good for even the most sensitive and upset skin. it is the Number 1 Lush Product and is meant to cool and soften skin.
Gorgeous is a facial moisturiser which is meant to make your skin soft, light, carefree and happy. It adapts itself to suit every kind of skin, which suits every type of mum.
Inhale/Exhale Bath Ballistic This bath bomb has two halves. Inhale fizzes quickly so mum can breathe in a fruity, rose scent to relax and exhale fizzes more slowly to give mum an even longer lasting soak.
Secret Garden Bath Ballistic This bath ballistic is very floral which makes mum feel like she is in her own garden. This is filled with petals that will float on the bath water and smell like roses. (Sounds like heaven to me)
Mumkin Bubble Bar an incredibly popular bubble bar from 2013. Known for her beautiful fruity fragrance and turning bath waters a deep and luscious pink.
The Mum Bubble Bar is shaped like a yellow flower and smells of sweet caramel. This is a reusable bubble bar on a stick. I've owned something like this from the Christmas collection and I absolutely loved it so I'm excited to steal this from my mum and try it...
Rose Bubble Bar "Feel as though you're wandering in a field of pink roses" made with rose hip oil and cocoa butter to soothe and nourish skin.

I think this is an amazing deal and if I was a mother I would be very pleased to receive this. Reading through all these products have made me want to try these products. I may have to buy my mum a different present and keep this for myself....

How are you spoiling your mother this mothers day?

Thank you for reading!
Have a nice day :)

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Nail polish Review| Casssheww

I have no idea how long these nail polishes have been around for but I only recently picked these up and decided to review them for you today.
To be honest I’m not really picky with nail polish brands, I will look at the colour and price before the brand. I was shopping at Gloss a while ago and they were having a 3 for $12 for these nail polishes and usually the Sally Hansen line is extremely expensive at about $15 for one nail polish! How could I say no to this deal?
I decided I would pick some autumnal colours since it was the beginning of autumn when I purchased these. I of course had to have a deep wine colour for my 2014 Autumn staple nail polish, a dirty, earthy orange colour because I’d never owned a colour like it and a muted grey-purple colour, mainly just because I wanted a purple nail polish that I would actually wear.
My first thought is the names are very cute which is a huge factor for me to be honest. Second, I am in love with the colours I have picked, which is obvious because I wouldn't have bought them if I didn't like the colours? Haha. The packaging of these look very professional and they are quite large so they hold a lot of product. The brush is quite short, almost flat and spread out so it makes it easier to cover the entire nail with just one stroke, making the process of painting my nails easier and quicker. Thirdly, and most importantly, the pigmentation is insane!
I demonstrated with the colour ‘Pat on the Black’ to show the colour payoff. The lower nail has one coat of this nail polish on and has come out a berry colour. The nail on the top has two coats and as you can see the colour on the nail is identical to the colour of the bottle. I think this is amazing as most nail polishes I use usually take 3 coats to get the colour that is shown on the bottle. The nail polish does not dry as quickly as I would like, then again I am a very impatient person haha, but that isn't really an issue for me.
Overall, I think this is a really amazing product and I would give it a 5 out of 5. I would say they are worth the $15 price that they are but I am a cheapskate and will just wait for there to be another sale haha.

What is your favourite colour to paint your nails?

Have a nice day :)
