It’s been a while since I last reviewed a face mask. Over the past couple of years it has been a constant battle with my skin and all my concentration and money has gone towards trying to make my skin be more clear and look better. Recently, I have given up on that. I’ve realised that it will take time for my skin to be the best that it can be and nothing will ever hide the fact that my skin is not perfect. It was my horrible skin that first attracted me to makeup. This year one of my resolutions was to use up all my old products (that are still useable and not out of date) so that I can spend my money elsewhere. One of my favourite (and most expensive) face masks is the Origins Clear Improvements Face Mask Review. I do not remember what it was that got my to buy this in the first place, there was a massive hype about this product a while ago, but what got me to get back into using it was the beautiful and adorable Tanya Burr. She showed this in a haul video and reminded me of how amazing this product was. So here we go. This is my review of the Origins Clear Improvements Face Mask.
To give you a quick overview of my skin, it is normal/combination. I have a lot of acne scaring and hyper pigmentation, and I have giant pores. This mask promises to clear pores and impurities, absorb the toxins in your skin and to make your skin as clear as possible. These are the words of Origins themselves:
When environmental toxins, dirt and debris get under your skin, its waste-filtering system gets jammed, pores get clogged, skin looks cloudy. Nature's complexion clean-up crew gets to the bottom of skins overcast condition and clears the way for it to act its best. Activated Charcoal acts like a magnet to draw out deep-dwelling pore-cloggers, White China Clay absorbs environmental toxins, Lecithin dissolves impurities. Without all that "stuff" down there, skin "breathes a sigh of relief."
I agree with everything they say. I do feel like my skin is getting more clear and is being stripped of all the dirt and yucky stuff (very professional) that may be trapped in your skin from your adventures throughout the day. I feel so much more fresh and cleansed after using this mask. It is also great for spots as after waking up the next morning I can already notice a difference. I have noticed that with this and a few other prescribed products for acne that my skin no longer has a million breakouts that need to be demolished (sounds… violent?). My biggest struggle right now is dealing with hyper pigmentation and acne scaring and I feel like this mask is actually helping to clear that up.
I usually leave it on for about 20 minutes and you feel a sort of tingling sensation (which I love because then I know it's working). The texture is quite thick and gloopy but it goes on nicely on the skin. It is quite difficult to get off but then again so are most clay masks.
Overall, I do feel like it has helped make my skin look more clear and cleansed. I give it a 4/5 (-1 because it is difficult to take off but other than that its great).
What are some of your favourite face masks?
Thanks for reading!
Have a good day!
♥Cass
